Kaohsiung Medical University
Kaohsiung Medical University was established in 1954 by Professor Du Congming, the first Taiwanese doctorate in medicine. It is the first medical college and private institution founded by Taiwanese individuals.
The healthcare system of Kaohsiung Medical University includes Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital (Medical Center), Kaohsiung Municipal Xiaogang Hospital (Regional Teaching Hospital), Kaohsiung Municipal Dazhong Hospital (Regional Hospital), and Kaohsiung Municipal Qijin Hospital. The total medical service capacity of these four hospitals is among the best in southern Taiwan.
