Why the PoC Program
Taiwan's first hospital-backed VC co-runs the program with two major hospital systems, so you can work directly with the clinicians who would use your product.
Each team starts with a goal-setting session and receives support tailored to its specific goals—not a one-size-fits-all curriculum.
Leverage Taiwan as a clinical launchpad, then expand across the region through our network in Japan, Singapore, and beyond.
A direct path from hospital validation to investor meetings, BioAsia Taiwan Demo Day, and investment consideration by BE Health Ventures.
Program Overview
The PoC Program is open to healthtech and medtech startups from around the world. It runs in a hybrid format, so every startup receives the same resources wherever it is based, though we strongly encourage startups to attend Demo Day in person. The program begins with a goal-setting session to tailor support to each startup's needs and goals. Courses and events are in English; mentorship can be in Mandarin if preferred. Everything below is included in the USD 6,500 Program Service Fee.
Validate your solution with the clinicians who will use it.
Get investor-ready and meet the right investors.
Build a business model tailored to healthcare ecosystems.
Leverage Taiwan as your gateway to Asia.
Grow with a network built for healthtech and medtech.

Contact the project lead“The PoC Program helped us secure two new clinical sites and referred us to Singapore, our first step into an overseas market. The pitch and data room courses were also very practical and fit exactly what our company needs at this stage. The program is truly worth every penny!”
— Mingta Tu, CEO, MacroInsight Innovation
“What I really liked about the PoC Program was the connections we made. The mentors helped us find great partners like Britemed, and through Show Chwan, we’ve been able to explore clinical trials and connect with physicians across Asia. We even hosted a symposium at IRCAD Taiwan, where we got to show our technology to over 30 physicians.”
— George Hsu, CEO, Aulea Medical

The PoC Program may be a good fit for your team if you:
The BE PoC Accelerator Program offers international startups an excellent opportunity to explore Asian markets
Through our hospital network, startups can validate clinical needs, establish hospital pilot sites, and access healthcare resources to identify unmet clinical needs. Startups seeking support with clinical trials, manufacturing, data access, and fundraising can also benefit from our extensive network in Taiwan and across Asia
The PoC Program runs for approximately six months, with an expected time commitment of around 2–3 hours per week. The actual time commitment may vary depending on the weekly course schedule, meetings, and the team’s progress
Startups participating in the PoC Program will be matched with a suitable hospital partner based on their services, products, technology focus, and collaboration needs
Taipei Medical University primarily works with startups in digital health, artificial intelligence, and medical devices, while Show Chwan Healthcare System focuses on startups working in minimally invasive surgery, robotic surgery, smart operating room solutions, as well as long term care and community health
If you are unsure which hospital is the best fit for your team, please feel free to email the BE Health team directly. You can also indicate your preferred hospital on the application form. During the selection process, we will determine the most suitable hospital match based on each team's needs
All applications are jointly evaluated by BE Health and our hospital partners. Based on what each team hopes to achieve through the PoC Program, we evaluate applicants across three key areas:
If you are unsure whether your team is a good fit for the PoC Program, please feel free to email the BE Health team. We would be happy to discuss your needs and potential fit with you
No. Submitting an application does not guarantee a place in the PoC Program. All applications are reviewed jointly by our partner hospitals and BE Health, based on what each team hopes to achieve through the program, as well as hospital readiness, resource match, and regulatory pathway. The number of teams selected for each cohort depends on the needs of our partner hospitals' departments and the resources available
Teams that are not selected are welcome to apply again in a future cohort, or to email the BE Health team to discuss other ways we can work together
Teams selected for the PoC Program will also be considered for potential investment by BE Health. Our investment evaluation focuses on two key factors: whether the company can provide sufficient and relevant information to support our due diligence process, and the strategic fit between the company and BE Health
We conduct due diligence based on the company’s stage of development, covering key areas including business, technology, finance, regulatory affairs, and legal matters. In general, the investment evaluation process takes at least three months, from the initial meeting to the final decision by the Investment Committee
As strategic fit between the company and BE Health is a key consideration in our investment evaluation, our experience as a hospital-backed venture capital firm means that the company’s progress in collaborating with our clinical partner hospitals will also play an important role in the due diligence and investment evaluation process
Yes. A program service fee applies to the PoC Program. There is no fee during the application and evaluation stage. Startups are required to pay a USD 6,500 program service fee only after they are officially selected and accept the offer to begin the PoC Program. This fee primarily supports the resources and activities involved in the clinical implementation and execution of the PoC, rather than serving as tuition or a participation fee
The overall value of the PoC Program is approximately USD 35,000. Starting in 2026, selected startups are required to contribute only USD 6,500 as the program service fee. The remaining value of approximately USD 28,500 is provided through resource sponsorship and in-kind contributions from BE Health, our hospital partners, corporate partners, and their ecosystem partners
Payment of the Program Service Fee does not guarantee that the PoC will result in further collaboration
The fee is intended to support the actual resources and personnel invested by our hospital and corporate partners throughout the PoC assessment and execution process, as well as the clinical, business, and fundraising activities included in the program
Even if the PoC does not ultimately lead to further collaboration, startups will still be able to access the program’s resources and take part in its activities, including VC and investor meetings, matchmaking sessions, mentorship, corporate partnership discussions and company visits, and the development of clinical and other application sites. The experience, validation results, connections, and market opportunities gained through the program can serve as valuable resources for pursuing future opportunities with other hospitals, companies, or markets
The PoC Program content varies slightly between the two partner hospitals. The lists below outline what each track offers. Bold items are specific to each track:
