After Passing Innovation Board Review, H2U Receives Investment from BE Health Ventures and Partners to Establish a Corporate Accelerator for Digital Health

Because healthcare and digital health are closely tied to human life and well-being, startups in these sectors often face major challenges in bringing their products into real healthcare settings or securing enterprise customers. The partnership between BE Health Ventures and H2U directly complements each party’s strengths in “innovative technology” and “real-world implementation channels.”

As a healthcare and biotech startup accelerator and hospital-backed venture capital platform, BE Health Ventures has supported more than 200 forward-looking startups from Taiwan and overseas since its establishment in 2018. Through its PoS(Proof of Strategic Partnership)Program, BE Health has successfully facilitated collaborations between startups and international corporations, including Japanese listed company Nitto Denko and Teijin Pharma. The alliance with H2U represents the first landmark case of this program in Taiwan.

On the other hand, H2U brings extensive market penetration and implementation resources. Founded in 2013 to support the health management of Hon Hai Technology Group’s million employees, H2U has since built a broad range of B2B and B2C application scenarios. Its health checkup information platform, H2U eXamine, accounts for as much as 80% of Taiwan’s market share, according to data provided by H2U, and serves 70% of Taiwan’s medium- and large-sized health checkup institutions, reaching up to 2 million users annually. Its corporate health management service, H2U eXpert, has also entered more than 350 enterprise clients.

In addition, H2U owns Taiwan’s largest health media platform, Everyday Health, and the country’s largest sports community, Sports Note, forming a comprehensive “full-scenario health ecosystem” that spans workplaces, medical settings, and individuals’ daily lives.

Concrete business integration between the two parties has already begun. For example, Seng Seng Move, a physical therapy service platform supported by the BE Accelerator, has officially been launched on H2U’s AI-powered digital health management platform, H2U pano, becoming one of the health appointment options available to employees of multiple enterprise clients.

This case illustrates the collaboration model between the two parties: after enterprises purchase health services, employees are converted into individual users. The health data and service demand generated by these users on the platform can then attract more startup services supported by BE Health Ventures to join the ecosystem. This creates a closed-loop model in which enterprises and startups drive traffic to each other, while data feedback enables more precise service matching.

H2U Passes Innovation Board Application and Plans to List This Year

H2U has also passed its application for the Innovation Board and aims to go public in the third quarter of this year.

Based on its recent market development, H2U has been steadily advancing its capitalization and international expansion strategy. In 2024, H2U completed a US$10 million Series B funding round, with investors including Taiwan-based Standard Foods Group, Wellell, and GrandTech, as well as strategic investment from SCL, South Korea’s largest medical testing group. Through a memorandum of understanding signed by the three parties to form an international smart healthcare alliance, H2U has not only helped bring high-end Korean medical devices into Taiwan, but has also promoted the overseas expansion of Taiwan’s digital health technologies.

This year, H2U was named by the UK’s Financial Times as one of the world’s top 500 high-growth companies, making it the only digital health company from Taiwan to be included on the list. The company has also received multiple international recognitions, including the HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia award.

The new partnership with BE Health Ventures to launch a corporate accelerator adds further technological and innovation momentum beyond capital support. BE Health Ventures stated that it sees strong potential in H2U’s health service platform and health data integration capabilities, and believes the platform can serve as an important implementation channel for health technology startup services.

Moving forward, the two parties will continue to leverage the accelerator platform and industry networks to accelerate the real-world adoption of innovative medical and digital health technologies.
